日本では緊急事態宣言が解除され、
学校再開されている都道府県が多いみたいですね。
僕の住むカナダブリティッシュコロンビア州でも、
6月1日から段階的に学校が再開されます。
カナダの学校の対応とそんなに大差ないように思いました。
後はこの状態をどこまで継続できるかですね。
日本には必ず「不平等だ」という声を上げる人がいて、
クレーマーの声を優先してしまうという風潮がありますからね。
この記事ではカナダの学校再開のガイドラインについて、
かいつまんで説明していきたいと思います。
カナダ学校再開のガイドライン（6/1)
まず大前提ですが、カナダでは学校が再開されても子供を通学させるかどうかは任意になっています。
学校がオープンしている日に登校しなくてもペナルティはありません。
ちなみに学校再開は英語でSchool reopeningと表現します。
BC州は以下の5段階で学校再開プランを作成しました。
まずは週２～3日から始めて生徒の数も制限するようです。
日本の学校と大きく異なるところは、
低学年を優先的に通学させるところです。
KindergartenからGrade5まではキャパの50%まで受け入れ可能なのに対し、
Grade6&7は全体のキャパの20%までしか受け入れることができません。
Health and Safety Measure
次に具体的な対策について見ていきましょう。
students will have designated desks or tables to maintain physical distancing
→接触距離を保つために生徒は指定の机を与えられる
students will be encouraged to use their own supplies
→生徒は自分の備品を使うことを推奨する
the flow of people in hallways and bathrooms will be managed to minimize contact
and maintain physical distance
→距離をたもちフィジカルコンタクトを最小限にするため、人々の流れは管理される。
students will be prevented from gathering in hallways or other common areas
→生徒は廊下や共有エリアで集まることを避ける
cleaning of high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, toilet seats, keyboards and desks will
occur regularly, and school buildings will be cleaned at least once a day
→触る頻度が高いものは最低1日に1度は綺麗に清掃される
students, educators and staff will be required to wash their hands upon entering
school and throughout the day
→1日を通して生徒・教員ともに学校に入るときは手洗いをしなければならない
the school is well-stocked with hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies
→学校には消毒液やその他の清掃用具を常備しておく
there will be increased outside time but no physical contact sports
→屋外での活動は増えるが肉体的接触の無いスポーツに限る
the school playground center will open for Kindergarten and grade 1students
only -swings will be available for students in grades 2-7.
→プレイグラウンドの中央はキンダーとグレード１の生徒のみに解放される。
ブランコはグレード２～7のみに解放される
children will not be permitted to share food or personal items like phones, pens or
pencils
→児童は持ち物や食べ物をシェアすることは禁止
water dispensersfor bottles will be available only - parents are encouraged to have
your child bring their own water bottle
→子供にはできる限り水筒を持たせるようにしてください。
給水所では水筒のみ利用可能です。
there will be regular verbal reminders for children to minimize physical contact with
their friends
→友達との接触を最小限にするために、定期的に口頭でリマインドします。
health and safety signage to remind children and staff to wash their hands, maintain
physical distancing and practice appropriate respiratory etiquette will be displayed
throughout the school
→看板を立てて児童に手洗いやソーシャルディスタンス、
せきやくしゃみをするときのマナーをリマインドします。
staff will be required to stay home if they have symptoms of a common cold, influenza,
COVID-19 or any other infectious respiratory disease
→スタッフで風邪やインフルエンザの症状があるものは自宅待機する
parents will be asked to assess their children daily and to keep them home if they feel
ill or have any symptoms of a common cold, influenza, COVID-19 or any other infectious
respiratory disease
→児童で風邪やインフルなどの症状があるものは、自宅待機をするように親にお願いすることがあります。
if any student experiences symptoms while at school, they will be isolated with supervision and parents will be notified. Parent or caregivers must pick up their child as
soon as possible if they are notified that their child is ill.
→学校で症状の出た生徒は、他の生徒から隔離され特別監視下に置かれます。
親にはその通知が行きます。できる限り早くピックアップお願いします。
Parents and visitors to the school will not be permitted within the school building unless
previously arranged and agreed to by the Principal. This includes to pick up or drop
off, to discuss issues with Admin or staff or to drop off lunches.
→親の方は校長の許可がない限り、学校内に入ることは禁止します。
ピックアップやドロップオフの時も同様です。
only one student per seat will be permitted on school buses, unless children are from
the same household
→兄弟などでない限り、スクールバスは1人1席を原則とします。
as per the Provincial Health Officer’s guidance, there is no need for staff or students to
wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). For those who choose to wear their own
equipment, such as masks, their choice will be respected
→マスクなどの着用義務はありませんが、着用されるのであればありがたいです。
スケジュール
スケジュールはこんな感じです。
休憩とランチも時間を分けるようです。
- Recess: 10:00 –10:15 – all odd divisions
- Recess: 10:25 –10:40 – all even divisions
- Lunch: 11:15 – 11:30 lunch eating and 11:30-12:00 outside play – all odd divisions
- Lunch: 11:55 – 12:10 lunch eating and 12:10 –12:40 outside play – all even divisions
集合場所（ドロップオフ）についての指示がありましたが、
その中にGravel fieldという言葉がありました。
こういう単語を調べるときは画像検索をするのがおすすめです。
画像で見たほうが印象に残ります。
言葉だけでは印象に残らないのですぐに忘れます。
知らない単語は辞書で調べるものという考え方は古いです。
辞書で調べる場合も英英辞書を使うのがお勧めです。
英英辞書で調べた場合、細かいニュアンスまで理解できない可能性がありますが、
画像なら一目で何を意味しているのか理解できます。
僕たちが日本語を習得したのも、
「車」を見て「くるま」と教えられたから覚えたはずです。
つまり、視覚を使って単語を学ぶのは言語習得の正しいプロセスに則っているということです。
ちなみにGravel fieldは「砂利が敷かれた場所」のようです。
まとめ
日本の学校再開のガイドラインとそんなに変わりませんでしたね。
感染が拡がらないように親も学校も細心の注意を払わないといけませんね。
