今日は世界でもっとも売れている文法書をご紹介します。

この教材はプロの通訳も使っていると言われている良書で、この1冊で英語の文法はマスターできると言っても過言ではないでしょう。

英語の文法はこの１冊あれば十分です。

他の文法書は捨ててください。

日本人向けに作られた本ではないので中身は英語になりますが、

難しい英語ではないので英語初心者でも十分に内容を理解することができます。

僕は英語は英語で学ぶのがいいと考えています。

英語脳になるし、英語に慣れるスピードが速くなるからです。

英語学習者の方からおすすめの文法書を聞かれたら、僕は必ずこの本をおすすめします。

この本はずいぶん前にカナダのアマゾンで購入したものですが、

倉庫を整理していたら出てきました。

Advanced(上級者）と書いてありますが、そこまで難解な本ではないので初心者の方でも十分理解できる内容になっています。

このCambridgeの文法書は世界中の英語学習者が利用している、世界で最も実績のある文法書で、僕自身も今まで学んだどの文法書よりも良質だと思います。

日本でたくさんの文法書が売られている理由

なぜ日本では毎年数多くの英語文法書が発売されるのでしょうか？

１冊で英語文法をマスターできる本が存在すれば、

それ以外の文法書は必要ないはずです。

日本でたくさんの文法書が売られているのは、

英語文法をマスターできる本が存在しないからです。

なぜだと思いますか？

日本の文法書は難しく教えすぎだからです。

難解な文法用語を使いややこしい解説で、

より複雑に文法を理解させようとするから、

読んでも読んでも文法をマスターすることができないのです。

この本を読んでもらえばわかりますが、

英語の文法は非常にシンプルです。

TOEIC高得点者が会話になると全然英語が話せないのも、

Advanced Grammar in useのレベルは？

個人的な感想ですが、初心者向けと比べてそこまで難しい印象はありませんでした。

大学受験で学んだ英語は非常に難解なイメージがありますが、

この文法書では非常にシンプルに解説してくれているので、複雑に考えることがなく逆にわかりやすかったです。

Advanced(上級者）とうたわれていますが、初心者でも十分取り組める内容になっていると思います。

本の中身

本はかなり大きめ（A4サイズぐらい？）の大きさなので、持ち運びするのは大変ですがその分1ページごとに内容が凝縮されています。

この本の良いところは解説（左側）ページと、

演習ページ（右側）があることです。

インプットした後に即アウトプットをすると、記憶の定着率が上がります。

一般的な文法書は解説だけで演習がついていません。

そのため、読んでもすぐに忘れてしまうのです。

さすが世界一の文法書だけあって非常に考え抜かれています。

左側が文法の説明、右側が問題演習になっています（答えは巻末）。

学んだことをその場で問題演習できるので、内容が定着しやすい作りになっています。

どの箇所から始めればいいかわからない人のために、Study plannerというものもついています。

これで自分が一番最初に学ぶべき箇所がわかるようになっています。

巻末にはGrammar reminderと呼ばれる「まとめ」セクションもあります。

概要だけがまとめてあるので、すべて学習し終わったあとの復習に使うときに便利です。

Index(索引）も巻末に収録されているので、特定の表現を検索したいときに使えます。

この本に収録されていることは、日本の文法書のような「試験でしか使わない使えない文法」は存在しないので、日常会話にも使える役立つ知識のみが収録されています。

この1冊ができれば文法を極めることができるので、

TOEICなどでさらに高得点を目指したい方にもおすすめです。
